Inciting Change. Inspiring Love.

Lo Roberts is a woman with many roles. As a mother and pediatric nurse, she is a caretaker and advocate. In her role as the first woman of color President of Pride Houston, Inc, she has been an activist, strategist, community liaison, and public figure.  Her ever-active imagination and unbridled energy have consistently led Lo to pursue creative endeavors as well.

Ask Lo how she manages it all, and she will simply state, “You have to be the change you want to see”. At the core of all of these roles is a woman of strength, fortitude and experience, and a positive energy that touches all those around her.

Linda J. DeMarco, CoPresident- InterPride- World Pride Association I have been volunteering in the Pride movement for over 23 years and Lo is one of the brightest up and coming activists and organizers I have seen in years.  Lo’s passion and commitment to the Pride movement is not only with Houston but worldwide.  I love working with Lo! She brings a young honest and true voice that is needed in a movement that has evolved over the years.  I looked forward to what comes next with Lo involved.

Her True Character as a Leader There are moments in both our professional and personal lives that we may meet an individual that refeuls and redefines the mission for us. Lo has been one of those individuals for me. Watching her work consistently to make sure all narratives were seen heard and represented shows her true character as a leader, mentor, and community member. Thank you, Lo, for breaking the word community apart, and redefining what “come in unity” looks like.
